Hello everyone! It seems we are just flooding the OOC Comm with all sorts of announcements, but with every post, we get closer and closer to making Terminal Tokyo the game we all know it has the potential to be. As you all know, we asked for your participation in a series of discussions and polls in regards to a few things we felt needed to be brought to everyone’s attention. You were very vocal and receptive, and brought many good points to the table in regards to these changes. We couldn’t be more prouder of a player base so passionate about the game, despite its youth, and we are grateful for your attention and participation! After looking through what had been said and voted on, we are happy to say that we are ready to present you with these changes.

ACTIVITY CHECK CHANGES
As many of you know, our former Activity Check set-up was...rather confusing. As of this month, our old AC system is scrapped and the new one takes into account your discussion comments and the poll. The new set-up will work as follows:
25 Comments that come from at least 3 threads and no more than 6. They can come from either [community profile] themainframe or [community profile] thefolder.

OR

Two proofs of the following. NOTE: you can do two of the same proof.

1) One post with comments in [community profile] themainframe.
2) Creation/participation in a log in [community profile] thefolder.
3) 15 comments from your character in at least 2 different threads in [community profile] themainframe.
4) 6 comments from your character on a single log post in [community profile] thefolder.

The use of IC Inboxes for the use of AC will no longer be accepted.

We've essentially modified the most-voted for AC choice so it reflects the speed of the game more, and given those who were in favor of mix-and-match an option as well. We hope these AC options will not only be easier to understand, but easier to follow.

REMAINING DISCUSSION CHANGES
As well as the different AC options, we have also gone over the other discussion and poll results. A majority of those who voted and participated in the discussions spoke of how they wished for more Mod involvement in events, and even the jobs and missions. Just as many voiced concerns with how jobs and missions were done. We are taking the “more involvement” request very seriously, and are striving to increase our activity in regards to such. As for the missions and jobs, we are currently in the process of reworking how these will be executed in the future. We cannot give a definite answer at the moment, but there will be a noticeable difference come August.

We thank you all for your participation in both the polls and the discussions. It has helped us to make Terminal Tokyo a better game, and we hope to continue on this path of progress.

While discussing the changes to AC and our own involvement, we also talked of other changes that we felt needed to be made in regards to the game. Applications were a major topic we spoke at length about, as well as other things that we feel need to be mentioned.

CHANGES TO APPLICATIONS
With the new app round in August, we’d also like to clarify that, for anyone who has dropped and apps back in, as long as you use the same app, you’ll be automatically accepted, no judging of the app required, and your character will be able to keep the Digimon partner they originally had. You can also have the character keep memories from their time here, if you’d like, or you can start again fresh. In the future months, we will go over apps of former characters if they are re-apped, but as this is a new policy, we’re starting out like this.

We are also adding a new section to the applications that will go into effect in August. When you choose your Digimon families, you will be required to give a brief explanation as to why that family fits your character. It doesn’t have to be anything extremely detailed, just one to two sentences will suffice, but we do wish to know why you choose the families you do. This will help us get a better feel for your understanding of your character and how you believe they will impact the game.

Other things we are changing are the wait period for re-apps of rejected applications and characters swept from the game due to inactivity, as well as the opportunity for application challenges. Previously, you would have had to wait two (2) app rounds to reapply. For example, if you apply in August but are rejected, you would have to wait until October to reapply. Now, however, if you are rejected or swept, you are allowed to apply the next application round. So instead of waiting until October, you may now reapply in September. Due to this change, we will be allowing reserves and application challenges. In general terms, if two people decide to app the same character, the better applicant will get the spot. If two people reserve the same character, then we will wait until the end of the app round to judge, so that we don’t make rash judgements.

OTHER CHANGES AND NOTES
There are many upcoming changes to the game, not only in terms of AC and applications, but mostly in a cosmetic sense. We will be shifting some things around, as well as going through a lot of the files we have to determine what is and isn’t necessary to the game. The F.A.Q. and the rules are due for a bit of a rewrite, so that is something to look forward to (not for us, but for you guys). We just wanted to give you all a general heads-up that changes are being made, and will continue for a while, so if links aren’t working, or you can’t find anything, this is why.

We are also going to be looking at the different Digimon canons (specifically Tamers, Savers, Frontier, and Xros), and adjusting how they will work in the game. We do not wish to overshadow the other players, but they should not be considered useless either. We don’t have specific details at the moment. Just be on the lookout for announcements to these changes.

We’d also like to make a monthly reminder for people to please character tag their characters when they post! While we will go in and do it if you’ve forgotten, it makes it a lot simpler if you add the tags yourself, and all it takes is going into edit tags and clicking their tag. If your character’s new, please add the tag yourself, and if you can’t for some reason, alert one of us. If everyone remembers, it’s very helpful for us, going through cresting, and for you, going through Activity Checks!

A FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT
We have one final announcement for you all. A couple of months ago, Kisa said on Plurk that she would be stepping back from her responsibilities as Moderator of Terminal Tokyo due to personal issues. During these last two months, she has been giving us the information we needed, and also assisting us when necessary in Moderator duties. While this was all brought up on Plurk and some warning was given, we feel that it is now time to let the playerbase know that Kisa has passed the torch to us (DH, Ashley, and Jade). We knew this was coming for awhile and have been acting as full Moderators while waiting to announce until Kisa was comfortable with the announcement.

This was not an easy decision for Kisa to make, as Terminal Tokyo was her creation. We hope that we keep to the spirit of the game that she had in mind, as well as bring our own ideas and abilities to the table. We ask that you be understanding of her decision, and supportive as she works through the things going on in her life. We are grateful for the game that she has created and wish her well in her life and endeavors. Thank you, Kisa for creating Terminal Tokyo. We hope to help it live a long life.

We will be editing various pages to reflect the updates and changes we have mentioned as the day goes on. Should you notice something not working, don't hesitate to let us know. We also ask that you keep in mind that this is likely to be a slow process and to be patient; not everything can or will be fixed in one day as we all have lives outside of the game that must be dealt with. Please bear with us as we get these changes done as soon as humanly possible

Thank you for the update. I have kind of a minor request, but is it possible to screen/delete the comments of dropped characters here? I know it's kind of a minor thing, but there are six pages of listed lines which may make it difficult for someone to find their comment unless they have a direct link to it. Screening would allow them to remain there in case a returning player does make a return and wanted to see what their previous line was, while deleting would just clear up the page for mods as well.

When it comes to application challenges, how exactly will those be handled? Will the challenger need to submit an application right at the start of the application period or should they put in a challenge reserve?

Thanks for all of your hard work!

No worries, I was merely curious in case a friend wants to challenge a reserve and for the first part, it was a suggestion more than anything else. Thanks for looking over it!
