Digivices

Let's talk about the different Digivices! Or at least the ones that currently effect the game. (The ones from the manga and games will be added to this when we get characters from them, along with the Dark Digivices!)

Let's start with the Original Adventure Digivice, the ones that non-canon Digimon characters have along with the Adventure gang!

This is one of the Original Digivices! For sake of simplicity we will call it the Digivice. It's a very practical one for multiple reasons. The first and foremost is that it has the simplest method of Digivolution. All this Digivice requires is emotional energy and a well fed Digimon (and no Control Spires) to digivolve the Digimon into the next form, as the power of the crests are inside everyone. They are also the only Digivices, besides the D-3's and Digivice 01 to be able to use DNA Evolution. Along with that they are one of few devices to utilize Warp Evolution, allowing a less powerful form, to digivolve to its current highest in an instant.

Along with being able to detect other Digivices and have a built in clock, these are one of the few Digivices that are able to protect the Chosen Children. They shoot out beams of light to purify black gears/turn unpleasant Digimon into good ones, contain a world ending explosion, and restrain Digimon. A simple but ultimately a very powerful tool for the Adventure kids.

When Ryo mugged Taichi for his, he was unable to use it to Digivolve any Digimon. Instead he was able to charge it with his emotional energy to convert Digimon to fight for him.

All the original Adventure kids will be able to evolve to Mega forms found in this video. Sorry Yamato and Taichi you aren't special anymore.

The D-3's are basically the Digivice with a couple more functions. Created and upgraded by the The Harmonious Ones, they are able to utilize the Digi-eggs and D-Terminals to use a special form of Digivolution, that is unique to them. Armor Digivolution. Utilizing the power of the crest stored in the egg, turning rookies into armored Digimon of different and powerful levels. It is capable of evolving Digimon that have Evolve via DNA Evolution and utilize other forms they may have.

D-3 stands for there three functions. Detect, Digital, and Discover. It's able to to Detect other D-3's via the antennae. Show Digimon via Digital. And Discover Digi-eggs.

Like the Digivice, Ryo (who has mugged Daisuke without him knowing it existed) and Ken were able to charge it with emotional energy to convert Digimon to there side. Along with using the Digi-Eggs for special effects.

All characters from this series will be able to reach the natural and jogress Mega form. Also, it is possible for the Chosen to loan Digi-eggs to the other 02 children as well as evolve there DNA evolved Digimon. Utilizing their feelings to protect each other and the D-3's they are able to recreate the Digi-egg of Miracles, temporarily. However all the D-3 kids must be present. Imperialdramon Paladin Mode will be a special case digimon, and is honestly only one of three we will place a use limit on for the canon characters.

The D-Ark, one of the more interesting Digivices out there. Able to use cards from the Digimon Card Game to support their partners with interesting effects. Unlike the Digivices and the D-3's it's way of evolution is a bit...wonky. At first it required Culumon to be nearby, but the tamers found a card to get a way around that. After that to reach Ultimate they needed to have access to the Blue Card to utilize Matrix Digivolution and are naturally able to utilize Biomerge Digivolution. Biomerge Digivolution is when the Tamer and Rookie Digimon merge into the Digimon's Mega form. They are not needed for Digivolution, as Impmon was able to digivolve into Beelzemon Blast Mode without Ai or Mako using the device. Instead he used their emotions and toys to do it.

Like the previous ones it has functions that do not involve the partner Digimon. It has a clock and is able to detect hostile Digimon, via a Radar and Compass like application. Interestingly enough it can show the Tamers what their partner is seeing, allowing the Tamers to battle from the comfort of their own home. It was also the first Digivice to have a feature to purposefully heal their Digimon (expect Leomon). On the top is a data port...for well, putting in programs, accessed by hitting the up button. Items can be attached from here to utilize extra modes.

If a Digimon were to be killed, its screen becomes covered in static and pretty much unusable. And if the Digivolution is forced, it starts to crack before breaking, as shown with Takato and Megidramon. Takato only got a new because the Digital World took pity on him, for Jenrya/Henry kill-stealing the final boss.

Before he got his own, Ryo, once again, mugged another Chosen of their own. This time Takato. Utilizing the energy he was able to turn his foes into cards to be used. This was thankfully the last time he pulled this stunt, as the Digital Worlds had had enough of his bullshit and gave him his own. Which could produce an energy whip. Yeah. Ryo is kinda fucked up.

Any Tamer will be eventually be able biomerge with this Digivice, though we might have to cull the Dobermon population to do so. We do ask that you stick to cards that have been shown to have canon effects or support cards with the effects written on them. We also ask that you guys keep in mind the rarity of certain cards (like LadyDevimon) before using them. Ask if you are not sure. The effects of the cards can stack on each other, allowing for combo play.

The D-Tectors are a more low tech type of Digivice. Ophanimon used the Frontier children's cellphone as a base for them. Unlike the other Digivices, the D-Tectors utalize the Spirits of the Ten Legendary Warriors. The users turn themselves into Hybrid type Digimon, via Spirit evolution, Beast Spirit Evolution, Fusion Evolution, and Unified Spirit Evolution. The Spirit Evolution are Human-based, the Beast Spirit Evolution are more bestial looking, and the Fusion Evolution is a mix of both. When Ophanimon used the last of her powers to upgrade Takuya's and Koji's devices to utilize both forms of the five of the spirits each allowing them to evolve into EmperorGreymon and MangaGarurumon respectively.

Outside of this the children are able to scan fractal codes, a bar code like thing that contains the data of Digimon. These codes can be brought back to the village of beginnings to revive the Digimon as eggs. The fractal codes also store the data necessary for Spirit Evolution. They can be talk to each other and Ophanimon, as they were originally cellphones. There exists a map and compass function, and they are able to tell time.

All the children will be able to utilize fusion evolution after an encounter with Ophanimon. Should we get enough of a cast for Unified Spirit Evolution, we will bring up possibilities to them so that the other four children do not have to be sidelined along with using the other Spirits. Susanoomon will be a special case Digimon, and is honestly only one of three we will place a use limit on for the canon characters.

The D-IC and the D-IC Burst were created by Suguru Daimon. A human manifesting the Digisoul from the hand can use digivolve a Rookie into Champion (Digisoul Charge), from the Heart is Champion to Ultimate (Digisoul Full Charge), and by utilizing the full power of the Digisoul they can evolve to Mega. However the original devices were not able to handle that much power. When upgraded to the D-IC Burst they allow Digimon to go into Burst mode along with normal Mega.

Unlike some of the others there is no map function, however there is a time function to the device. Via the port at the bottom, they can carry around Digimon.

The D-IC Burst has a couple of extra functions one being Warp Digivolution. Air Signal is another function, which gives out the Aura, Barrier, and Burst evolution abilities. They help with the creation of the Digimon's weaponry, like the GeoGrey Sword. Too much use of Air Signal will revert a Digimon back to their Digi-egg state and can lead to a Dark Digivolution (IE: ShineGreymon Ruin Mode).

There is no game upgrade to this device as it's doesn't need any canon evening out.

The Xros Loader is what we like to call a hot mess of a Digivice. While boasting great functions it lacks many of the things normal Digivices has. Like the initial ability to Digivolve. However it can utilize to use the powerful Digi-Xroses. Basically a mixing and matching of parts of Digimon in new and fantastic ways. They are able to load a nigh infinite amount of Digimon in it and heal them, as long as they are consenting of going into the device or defeated. Able to track and locate pieces of the Code Crown and also store them. They can display basic information about Digimon. It display the ability to alter time and space a bit, via opening up routes between the separated lands and nations, by utilizing the information of the Code Crown pieces, of the Digital World along with entrance into the Digi-Quartz via time manipulation.

It also has a holographic 3-D model of the Digital World and measures the ambient temperature! Yet despite all of they could not fit in a clock. Unlike practically ever other one this Digivice just refuses to tell time.

While technically one of the more powerful Digivices, it is extremely specialized, to the point of detriment. Like the crests for the Digivices, it needs something external, to access a natural digivolving function. Even then it only bumps it up to mega form, which does get outclass by numerous Digi-Xroses. While this varies from person to person, it also means it nigh impossible to access it on purpose unless the Digi-Quartz is involved. Speaking of Digi-Xrosing, if anything, like Quartzmon's particles were to interfere with it's abilities, it makes it much harder to get good Xros-Up Form without experimentation.

Any canon Digi-Xros is available to be used, as long as all the components are there and the Digimon allows it. The Xros Loader can only evolve one Digimon, the characters main partner(IE Taiki and Shoutmon and Kiriha and MetalGreymon). Shoutmon X7 Superior Mode will be a special case Digimon, and is honestly only one of three we will place a use limit on for the canon characters.

The D-Streams, the Digivices of the game. All non-canon digimon characters will be given this. It's main functions is the upkeep of the dual partners of the New Chosen. Like the Digivice they had before, it runs off the emtional energy of the Chosen to digivolve both partners. The Chosen have free range and more active control of the Digivolution, by using the D-pad and four buttons, they can get can pick and choose what partners digivolves and when (IE: Partner 1 and Partner 2 at the same time). However the new device lack certain abilities of the Digivice and the D-3's. They are unable to D.N.A. Digivolve, Warp Digivolve, and normally cannot use extra modes.

The Digivice like many others has an interactive map in it. The Chosen are able to grab/share information with others about places, and can add to the map itself. There is a clock function within it along with ability to show basic information about Digimon.

Feeding off of data via the original partners, the D-Streams attempt to locate, or if unable to locate them, recreate them once, the SCOPE partners of the Chosen. The energy and data from that partner, that is needed for this is phenomenal, so instead of doing it all at once it absorbs any excess emotional energy from the surrounding Chosen. Utilizing the same amount of energy and data, they are permanently combine the two together.

There is a slot to put in chips, that Venusmon is currently helping in the creation process of. These chips off strong effects (like increasing power, total health, speed, and healing a certain amount of damage over a set amount of time) that give this group the edge. Only one chip in a time can be put in and the effect ends only when said chip is removed. Using the D-pad they can pick if only one partner or both receives the benefit of the chip.

In addition to all of these features, the D-Streams are able to store some items of the Chosen's choosing. However, space is limited, and items weighing more than your standard desktop computer will not be stored. 10-15 items are permitted, though it all depends on the weight of the item. The more it weighs, the more data it takes up, and the less space you have to store other things. Bags, backpacks, and the like count as one item, but the weight of each one DOES count towards the space it takes up, so be careful.

The Digivice was presented to the New Chosen by Venusmon, who had a hand in the creation along with two other unknown beings, for three reasons. One to differentiate the new chosen from the older ones, as their own group. Two, to limit Titamon's influence on the children and three, in order for them to be able to adapt to the future needs of the Children, whatever that may be, as they have, by adding in the functions for the second partners.

Within the coming days, this along with the new FAQ will be given it's own page, for easy reference. There will be changes to it clarify and with any new upgrades to any of the digivices or what is implied they can do. As you can see, we have already done that with some of them, the most noticeable being the D-Tectors.

Is the grayscale just so we can imagine our own color schemes on the D-Streams or are they all just like that?
