Blast From the Past: Initial info and Sign-ups

As you all know, this month is going to be extremely plot-heavy as we further progress the storyline of Terminal Tokyo. You may have seen the brief snippet we gave you on last month's calendar, and also attached to July's calendar. Yes, it is VERY brief, but it does hint at what will be going down. And I digress..

Blast from the Past will begin on July 5th with the appearance of Milleniummon's Castle on Server (which is now open to the public). There will be lulls in the event to make it a little easier to follow and catch up, don't worry, but be prepared for some MAJOR progression.

Here is a general outline of how things are going to go down:

July 5: Milleniummon's Castle is seen on Server. A group will be asked to go observe it.
July 7-8: This is the time when the observation group will do their task.
July 10-11: A group of Digimon will be passing through Terminal Tokyo.
July 10-25: This will be a big camping mission of anyone who decides to go. Essentially, they will be camping out near Milleniummon’s Castle during these two weeks and be infiltrating the castle.

This will be done a little differently than our last few events. That being, there is no sign-up for if you want to go infiltrate the castle. Your character can stay behind at the city if you wish or if they need to, which provides a nice opportunity for a city-confined player-run plot, but this is going to be massive, so there's no limit to whoever wants to go! If you have your character choose to stay to defend the city on the 10th and 11th but want them to go to Server as well, they can catch up a day or so later than the others. However, we will have a sign-up for the initial observers. Essentially, if you're chosen for this, your character will spend nearly all of July on Server. The roles, therefore, are as follows:

Observers(5): Five of you will be travelling with one of the NPC Chosen to go on a stake out at Milleniummon's Castle. You are to take notes while you are out so that you can properly report back with your findings. These places will be rolled for.

Infiltrators: All who want to will go to Milleniummon's Castle to infiltrate and gather more information inside. You will split into groups (chosen among yourselves, no more than four) and enter the castle.

There may also be Chosen needed to guard the entrance or camps that they set up, depending on if anyone gets injured. How things get divided up are largely up to you, including how many camps there are. To assist with knowledge about Server, though we will not have a map for some time, a list of locations and descriptions of them will be up by the 5th.

Please keep in mind, that each of these groups have the potential for fighting. This is a great chance for Digivolving and possible Cresting. Not to mention...DARK DIGIVOLUTIONS!

The number of Dark Digivolutions will increase this go 'round. Instead of the usual 2, we're going to be bumping it up to 5! Sign ups will be in the comment section below.

More information will come as soon as sign ups are over and we announce the groups! Sign ups will end July 3 at 11:59 pm and results will be posted the morning of July 4th. If there are any questions, please let us know!

So say you have a character in this group that's arrogant enough to try to take the castle over for herself.......

While we're excited to see her try, for now, the answer is no, she wouldn't be able to. If later the opportunity presents itself, then we will discuss the possibility of it happening, rest assured.

Haha of course, would it be something I can still plot for if the opportunity arises (say she gets to infiltrate with the rest for example)? She can use some more negative CR if anyone's interested in that.

Definitely! She can try much as she wants, though it will for now be a fruitless effort.

CHARACTER NAME: Rin Tousaka

REASON: Rin Tousaka is a person of power. When power is taken from her and things happen out of her control, it leaves her out of her element. This rarely happens as she's very good at keeping things going the way she wants them to.

However, something's changed the way she thinks.

In her world, Hakuno's Servant was a man by the name of Archer. She knows this very well because she was intimately close to him and there's no way she could have ever made that up. When Hakuno first made mention that Saber was her Servant, Rin brushed it off. Something must have happened to her, not Rin herself. It was easy enough to blame Hakuno's lack of memory seeing as she's not really a real person and therefore the Digital World could have easily modified her memories. While this way of thinking may have shifted their friendship, it wasn't until her Servant made an appearance that Rin felt that maybe for once she was the one who was wrong.

That's not right. Rin Tousaka can't be wrong.

The moment she accepts that things aren't the way she recalls (the moment her world shifts because of the actions or memories of others), that means she's given up power.

Fortunately for her, power is something she can easily obtain once more. All she needs to do is to do something to feel alive. Attacking these so-called allies of her's is a good way to start. If Hakuno and Saber truly were Master and Servant that means they should have won the Holy Grail War together.

That means they should be capable of defeating Rin. After all, only the best duo could achieve victory and acquire this holy relic that can grant any wish.

She can't exactly do that on her own. Lunamon, for once, will want to help her with this. One of the possibilities for a champion form is that of a blue-haired wolf and therefore something worthy of filling that void. Without Lancer, the Hound of Ulster, at her side, Rin's lost. This is Lunamon's way of offering to help.

After all, if her Chosen Child is lost, isn't it her responsibility to bring her back? Even if she must take this kind of step and possibly attack allies, it will be worth it in the end to fix the ever so confident Rin.

REASON: So you know how Ed went through the dark field and is basically seeming to be completely fine and to have made a full recovery after only a couple of weeks? From having injuries cascaded over his body that were even worse than Donnie and Marley who are both still recovering during this event?

Yeah him being fine is a pile of bull. It's not that he's recovered quickly, it's that the can't let himself quit until everyone else is safe. He's hiding his injuries the entire time, and just pushing through the pain so that everyone else can rest a little easier by relying on him. The only problem is that he can't do it forever. The expeditions are going to get dangerous, they're going to get difficult, and his body is not physically ready to keep up with it yet. The strain of him forcing himself onward even despite his own body telling him not to alongside the strain of a fight that was for the moment a losing battle would be enough for him to resort to desperate measures out of a want to save everyone, and Ed's desperate measures are usually variations on 'Vomit energy at it until it works.'

Between his injuries and his desperation, he forces an evolution of the self-named 'Flame of Balance,' but instead of getting it to its proper next stage he instead warps it into something that only looks balanced on the outside, but is really an abomination that doesn't know the first thing about it. CUE CRAZY DIGIMON BLOWING EVERYTHING UP TIMES.

REASON: Hollyleaf's in a place where she's still struggling to adapt to her new body, and before coming here, she was in the middle of a crisis of where she belongs. She's still wrestling with the fact that she doesn't think she should've been born, as it goes against the warrior code she's been devoted to her whole life, and more than that, that she broke the code herself, believing herself to be doing the right thing but regretting it pretty soon after.

All of that leads to a lot of trauma and a lot of stress. This will be the first time she'll be in a battle situation since arriving here, and not being able to do anything - to fight like a warrior, like she's been trained - and with all this weighing on her mind, it'll be too much.

A combination of all of this will lead her to act rashly and make reckless decisions. She's already, in her mind, caused incredible problems for her Clan back home, and now she doesn't want to cause more problems here, even if she doesn't have any strong connections to the Chosen. But without the ability to do it? It'll push her to her brink, and when she's there, the negativity flows through her. She's already proven that by murdering a Clanmate back home.
